Our Uncle Julios Treat

Some of our "Cali" family came for a visit and of course we just had to take them to Uncle Julio's. The BEST Mexican food restaurant in the USA. (This is not a paid advertisement.)

Click http://unclejulios.com to check out their great menu! I recommend the fajitas. No, the shrimp. Wait, try the enchiladas. Ooh, don't forget about the flan for dessert. And the sopapillas too.

With full tummies and smiles on our faces: Mike, Aunt Sherry, Steve, Me, Mark, the back of Lundyn's head, Uncle Phil, Aunt Kathy, Mom & Dad L.

Believe it or not, I don't get to go to Uncle Julio's very often, but even more rare was that Lundyn made an appearance. She did great and ate like a champ! Maybe there will be more Uncle Julio's in our future now?! YUM!

Its Our Anniversary

Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.
1 Cor 13:7-8 (ESV)

From the day we pledged our love
I seem to love you more
Over time our love has deepened
And grown stronger in the Lord
Through all the ups and downs we’ve had
Our love has not grown dim
The light burns brighter to reflect
The love of God within

Meme's Birthday Surprise

We caught our Meme by surprise for her 84th birthday! She knew that my Mom was coming to town to see her, but what she didn't know was that Lundyn and I were coming to see her to wish her a happy birthday too.

Here is the birthday girl with Juliane, Aunt Joyce and me enjoying her pre-birthday dinner. Aunt Joyce and Uncle Jim grilled yummy hamburgers at their house.
(Some of the beautiful roses in front of Meme's house.)

The next day we went to Meme's house and had a great visit with her. When all us girls are together we can laugh until our tummies hurt about the silliest things. I treasure these moments, for sure!

We had Meme's birthday dinner at Underwood's. Oh, Underwood's. I just love this place and have the fondest memories of my family eating in this restaurant since I was a little girl. Often after church on Sundays, the line is usually out the door. The line moves faster than you think and even if it didn't it would be worth the wait!

I am so excited to bring my baby girl here too! Here she is with the feast of food in front of her.

But my favorite part and her's too was of course that wonderful cherry cobbler.
Happy Birthday Meme! Let's party again soon!!

Easter Sunday

We had a wonderful Easter Sunday this year. It was a celebration for us in more ways than one. We celebrated our risen Savior at church in an awesome worship service and it was also time for us to reflect on how far we've come. This day meant so much to have Lundyn at church with us. Please continue to pray for her as she continues to adjust to social situations.

She was all smiles this morning and cracking up at her Daddy as usual. Lundyn looked so pretty in her Easter dress although we didn't get the best picture of her in it this morning. I hope to get a better one soon.

After naps, we had Easter dinner at Mema and Poppy's. We had all the traditional fixins' with ham and potatoes, but we also had an interesting appetizer. CRAWFISH! Yes, that's right. I could eat those things anytime. YUM! Our cousin Juliane was coming through town. It was so nice to spend some time with her. Lundyn was smitten with her and enticed her to hang around a bit and play.

More Bluebonnet Pics

I know...I just can't get enough of my girl in the Texas bluebonnets. I just had to share a few more.

Bluebonnets 2009

The bluebonnet picture tradition continues in our family, much to my delight. This year we found a great patch close to home. It was a little harder to catch Lundyn this year. She just wanted to be on the move and explore. So the chase was on.

Lundyn got a close look at the flowers that I take her picture in every year.

Lundyn takes off.

Hmmm, she says. Where can I go next.

We tried the family shot, but Lundyn was just focused on where she would explore next.

Ah! Ha! We gotcha now.

We're on a roll, baby.

So silly!

Camping ROCKS!

We went camping with our Sunday school class this weekend. It was such an adventure for all of us. We rented a camper and headed out to the boonies. Well, sort of. We went to Cedar Hill State Park. The weather couldn't have been more picture perfect.

Our campsite. Are we roughing it or what?!?

Lundyn rode in the wagon with her new friend Reese.

We shared great meals with friends!

And Lundyn rode on her cricket trike.

We sang songs with our friend Krista.

And Lundyn rode on a little 4 wheeler.

Mema and Poppy came to visit and have hamburgers with us.

And Lundyn rode a rocking pony and made more new friends.

We found a trail.

We stuck our feet in the super cold lake water.

We even found a small patch of blue bonnets that I couldn't resist. The wind was blowing so hard that Lundyn almost blew right over.

And Lundyn rode on and on and on from sun up to sun down.

All that ridin' can make a girl sleepy. Lundyn slept well in our camper. We were tucked in nice and warm throughout the cool nights.

Count us in for more camping adventures!
