The Sprinkler + The Sun = A Whole Lot Of Fun

We've done our share of swimming in the pool this summer that's for sure.  Sometimes its just as fun to turn on the hose and run through the sprinkler.

The sprinkler is so fun for Lundyn that it was just impossible to let it be on the ground.

Daddy turned on the yard sprinklers too. It was sprinkler madness in our backyard and complete bliss for Lundyn.

Summer School?

We're having lots of fun this summer with Lundyn.  This girl keeps a busy schedule.  Lundyn has regular therapy at home each week.  Additionally, Lundyn attended speech therapy this summer through the school district.  She is learning new skills to communicate with pictures.  She made great progress last year.  It is important that she keep the skills that she learned fresh in her mind over the summer. This was a great experience for her.   She loved her therapist and looked forward to attending each week.

The mascot at the school she attended was Mustangs.  Lundyn loved seeing all the pictures of the horses in the hallways of the school.  It didn't take her long to know exactly where to go in the mornings.  She would lead the way!

We are grateful that Lundyn had this opportunity.  She will be ready to go back school in August.

The Great Toy Dump

Lundyn has enjoyed playing with her new toys that she got for her birthday.  This girl is always coming up with new ways to enjoy them as a matter of fact.  Lately, she has decided that it is fun to dump them all out of the toy box.  Today, she decided to even take that a step further...

The plan is to get behind the toy box and give it a good shove.  Sometimes it takes a couple of tries, but she is a determined little thing.  The end result is so rewarding after all.

And over it goes...  Just look at that face of determination and awe.

When the toy box is lying on its side like so, it is hard to resist the temptation to get on top of the thing.  What joy!!!

Don't let her fool you.  She is only pretending to be interested in the contents of the toy box right now.

She is back to the original plan.  All the toys must come out.

Aahhh!  Satisfaction for a job well done and mission accomplished!

Time To Party!

The time to celebrate Lundyn's 4th birthday is here!

The celebration started at our house the night before the party when Lundyn's Great Grandmother from California spent the night with us.  It was a special treat to spend some time with her.  We cherish moments like these.

The party continued the next day at Papa & Nana's house.  This pool was full of our loved ones, family and friends.  Get too close and you're going to get wet!

Lundyn loved every moment.

Papa cooked the hamburgers and hotdogs for lunch.  Yummy!  Then we moved on to cake and presents.

Lundyn had lots of helpers to unwrap her presents.  She loved all the action!

Lundyn's birthday was so special!  We were surrounded with LOVE!  What a great day and great memories.

 

Summer Do

What is the first thing you should do as a 4 year old?  Well, get a new do, of course.  I mean the big party is this weekend.  There will be family coming all the way from California.  We must look our best.  Lundyn is ready to show everyone her new hair do....

Okay, well sometimes we have our moments of silliness, but now we're ready to show off the new do....

Okay, well now we're just avoiding the topic all together.  (BTW, this is the way Lundyn rides in the car: shoes off, feet up.  Always!)

Look Who's 4

I wouldn't believe it, but the calendar says its so.  Lundyn Avery is 4 years old.

We will have her big party this weekend, but we can't let the day pass without some celebrating.  Mema brought Lundyn a balloon.  She cherishes it as long as it lasts and even a little while after.

We have a tradition to light a sparkler on Lundyn's birthday at the exact time of  her birth.  This year we lit the longest lasting sparkler we have ever seen.  I mean, the thing just wouldn't stop.  Maybe it just seemed like forever because we were ready for our cake and ice cream.  Hmmm?!?!

Sweet Baby Girl,

Another year and you're another foot taller.  You are growing up so fast and changing from my sweet baby to my precious little girl.  Your smile is unchanging.  I love that the first thing you do when you wake up is smile.  Even when you're mad, sometimes you can't help but smile.  You have a joy and light inside you that is contagious.

With God's grace and blessing you have overcome and achieved so much this year.  You bring me so much joy.  You continue to strive and work so hard to understand the world around you.  You love unconditionally and give so much love to others.  Although your interests can change from day to day, some of your favorites right now are:  animals, babies, bubbles, swimming, chicken enchiladas, anything sweet though especially cookies, music, friends, books, Elmo, Barney, bread (rolls, garlic bread, biscuits), muffins, broccoli, fruit, going shopping (although you have your limits when trying on clothes), riding in the car, walking backwards, bouncing on the trampoline (really just bouncing on anything), and dancing.  I'm glad that you seem to be over walking around with your eyes covered, though.  That one was nerve wracking!

Every moment with you is precious.  I praise the Father for allowing me to be your Mommy.  He knew I needed you.  I love you so much.  You are our special blessing from above.

Lovin' the 4th!!!
